Bongo - 1940s kid's book - is the story of Bongo, the performing bear, a star of the circus, juggling, riding a cycle on a wire, walking a tight rope. He was happy enough, but each day he was returned to a cage, and he longed to be free. One day he escaped, but soon found that he was unprepared for life in the outside world. He found a friend in Lulubelle, but she was also the friend of Lumpjaw, the biggest, toughest bear in the forest. It can be said that all's well that ends well, but there is a story in between!

This vintage find, a Little Golden Book copyrighted in 1948, bears the mark of a first printing - an A near the spine of the back page.  In good condition.
