Metal "Sink Duck" Decoy | Quinn's Mercantile
Produced by General Fibre Company in St. Louis, MO before they switched to fiber products, these heavy metal "sink" decoys were used to weigh down "sink boxes" which allowed the hunter to be concealed below water level. Popular from the turn of the 20th century, sink boxes were outlawed in the 1930s and decoys became increasingly lighter and designed to float on the water rather than rest on the edge of the hunter's boat.
Each of these vintage finds is unique, showing its age and use but still perfect to use as a door stop, book end, or conversation piece in your home, man cave, or office. Manufacturer's markings and the Ariduk markings are clear on each.
