Catching Up with Kate Cushman

Catching Up with Kate Cushman

We recently caught up with Quinn's Mercantile customer Kate Cushman in her adorable home. Kate is an expert DIYer, and we loved seeing how she's turned her home into a peaceful escape for her family.

Kate has a great eye for style, and we loved styling some of our pieces from Quinn's Mercantile in Murfreesboro in her home. First, in the living area, we gave the couch a pop with some of our throw pillows. Kate is also wearing a necklace from Quinn's and using a mug from Amanda Harrison Design.

We also layered a cotton wreath from Quinn's with this adorable piece made with pages from books above the couch. Kate did that herself! She also did this faux ship lap on one wall of her living space. It's absolutely adorable! Her sweet daughter also wanted to get in on the photo fun.

Kate's style is modern farmhouse, so this vintage wire basket and vintage quilts were a perfect compliment to her laid back style.

This Tennessee state candle, hand painted pallet knife art from Ashely Herod and vase with silk flowers were the perfect compliment in front of her do-it-yourself ship lap wall.

Next, we styled Kate's kitchen. We loved her backsplash, which is another DIY project that she did herself! This lemon apron is perfect for cooking and would also make a great gift.

Since Kate is originally from Murfreesboro, we definitely wanted to bring a few of our signature Murfreesboro items to style. This print from Daisy Sue Designs and tea towel looked so cute in her kitchen.

A few other details that we loved in Kate's home were her dinning table that she painted and stained herself and this adorable bookshelf that she added Rifle Paper Co. paper to make it perfect for her daughter's room. We styled the table with this pitcher and these coasters and the bookshelf with this floral box sign that worked perfectly in her daughter's room.

We loved how cozy Kate's home was, and her DIY touches definitely make the space feel personal and inviting. Be sure to check out Kate's blog for free printables for your home as well as DIY tutorials and mom tips!
